Danashia Walker

Chief Clinical Officer

Danashia Walker, MSW, Anuvia’s Chief Clinical Officer, oversees all clinical services offered by Anuvia. Danashia started at Anuvia in December of 2022 as the outpatient clinical director and was later promoted to Chief Clinical Officer. Prior to coming to Anuvia, she was a regional clinical coordinator.

Danashia has 20+ years of experience in behavioral health services. Her background is predominantly in mental health, but she has experience with substance use disorder treatment. She started out working in a group home facility for adolescents and then moved into community-based work. She has also provided intensive in-home care for children and families, managed Assertive Community Treatment teams and supervised Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services during her career.

Originally from Jamaica, Danashia migrated here to the United States when she was 12. She lived in New York for a bit, and then moved to North Carolina for her undergraduate studies. She attended Barber Scotia College, an HBCU that used to be in Concord, NC. From Barber Scotia she took a gap year and then transitioned to USC in South Carolina for her master’s in social work.

Danashia is a mother of three children and has been in a relationship for the last 18 years. Asked what she likes best about her work, she said, “I think it’s just seeing the change in people. I think my takeaway is just the change in people, the individuals that we serve, just watching the difference when we pour into them. I used to tell my folks that sometimes you get to plant a seed, you don’t get to nurture it sometimes and watch it grow. But that outcome is amazing.”
